It's easy to operate—put a 4GB memory card in the SD slot翻譯社 and the content downloads as quick as you like thanks to its high-speed wireless LAN connection. High speed wireless LAN of 11/54Mbps conformed to IEEE802.11b/g翻譯社 a USB mini-B connecter conformed to a USB 2.0 (480Mbps) and a SD card slot are equipped as outside interface. They can be selected according to the way to download information. Because there is also a stereo speaker on both sides翻譯社 reading out of books or audio explanation of an advertisement are available.
Because electronic paper is adopted for a display, a still image can be displayed continuously without power supply. Power supply is necessary only for redrawing of a image. Therefore “FLEPia” can run longer than the other liquid crystal display panels. With a fully charged battery翻譯社 “FLEPia” can run for 50 hours (when 3翻譯社000 pages are displayed every 1 minute on 8 colors display.)

“FLEPia” equips the Japanese version of Windows®CE5.0 by Microsoft Corporation. Web browser and e-mail are available. Because “FLEPia” can also display data of variety of applications by Microsoft Corporation such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel翻譯社 referring of a document or an attachment of e-mail is available. A software keyboard and a touch-pen enable to input short sentence for e-mail.

The sample number of sales target for fiscal year 2007 is 1翻譯社000 units. (200 units per month) The worldwide general sales will be started in fiscal year 2008. Fujitsu Frontech is targeting sales of about 10 billion yen accumulated by fiscal year 2010.
There are three color variation for the body of “FLEPia”, white pearl, pink pearl and silver.
“FLEPia” will be displayed in “Fujitsu Forum 2007” being held on 17th and 18th May at Tokyo International Forum.

This product has a large display 12 mm thick, weighs 320g (A5-size model). It can run 50 hours continuously with a fully charged battery. A large amount of information (a year of newspapers翻譯社 two years of weekly magazines or 5,000 volumes of books) can be stored in this terminal by using 4GB SD card (option).
“FLEPia” realizes compactness and low power by electronic paper which can display a still image continuously without power supply. There are two types of size翻譯社 A4-size (12 inch) and A5-size (8 inch). A4-size weighs 480g and A5-size weighs 320g. They measure 12mm and can run for 50 hours at most.

Two years ago翻譯社 Fujitsu announced that it had come up with the world's first film substrate-based bendable color electronic paper featuring image memory function (snappy name翻譯社 fellas). Well翻譯社 now they've made something to put it in: The FLEPia (that's a bit better翻譯社 but I'm still not convinced). it comes in two sizes翻譯社 A4 (480 grams) and A5 (320 grams) and both are just 12mm thick.
